Scavland bunkers & the Mist

Plan an underground run around confirmed systems, not a copied route that may belong to another build or seed.

System-backed + route open

Short answer

Scavland presents a handcrafted surface world, procedural underground bunkers, and the Mist as a major wasteland hazard. Public sources do not establish a universal bunker layout, loot table, resistance value, or guaranteed route for every save.

Above ground, below ground, and inside the hazard

The useful distinction is structural: the surface map can support location notes, while procedural bunkers require run-specific evidence. The Mist and radiation belong in route planning, but a single player’s safe path is not a complete atlas.

01 / surfaceMap discovery matters

Use revealed roads and information as the route baseline instead of assuming every location is prefilled.

Source-backed
02 / undergroundBunkers are procedural

A route that worked in another run may not be a reliable map for the next descent.

03 / hazardMist and radiation need logs

Record exposure, gear, mode, and build before turning a survival tip into a rule.

Needs verification

Route planning for a bunker run

  1. Mark the exit before the entrance.Confirm the surface route home and the nearest known safe point before committing supplies underground.
  2. Pack for an unknown layout.Do not use a surface loot loadout as proof that a procedural bunker will repeat the same rooms or threats.
  3. Track the hazard separately.Log Mist exposure, radiation indicators, medical items, and filter or tool behavior as separate observations.
  4. Publish only repeatable markers. For a named room, key, or extraction, capture the location, build, run context, and a second confirmation where possible.

Bunkers and Mist FAQ

Can I follow a bunker map from another player?

Use it as a lead, not a guarantee. Procedural underground areas make run, build, and seed context important.

Is the Mist just a map decoration?

No. The official material presents it as a real hazard. Exact damage, exposure, and best protection claims need current-build evidence.

Should every key or room be added to the map?

Only when the marker is repeatable and its evidence is clear. Keep uncertain locations in a dated report rather than presenting them as a complete atlas.
